When requirements are managed in Jira, the Requirements Traceability Matrix in TestCollab ensures every story or feature is validated by tests. The matrix displays all Jira issues you’ve configured as “requirements” and maps them against linked test cases.
How it works
All Jira issues from chosen projects and issue types are pulled into the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
The report highlights:
Total requirements
Covered vs uncovered issues
Number of linked test case
Advanced JQL filters can be applied, letting you focus on subsets of requirements (e.g., status = “To Verify”)
Interactivity
Click on a Jira issue ID to open it in Jira.

Requirements Traceability Matrix Caveats
Ensure your JQL query is correct; an over-restrictive filter may hide uncovered requirements.
Large query results may slow matrix generation.
Check the “last updated” timestamp to confirm Jira sync freshness.
Summary
The Jira-powered Requirements Traceability Matrix brings live test coverage insight to your agile workflows. With JQL filtering and direct navigation to Jira issues, it transforms traceability from a static compliance exercise into a living part of your QA cycle.
